Answers to common questions about WOD Forge. If you don't find what you need, email us directly — we read every message.
Open the Coach tab and type what you want — for example "Give me a 20-minute AMRAP" or "Build a full one-hour session, intermediate". Tap a suggestion to start instantly. The coach replies and drops a workout card into the chat; tap it to see the full detail.
To change anything, just keep chatting: "swap the pull-ups for ring rows", "make the loads lighter", "add a strength piece". The coach updates the same card. You can write in any language.
No. There's no sign-up and no login — the app works the moment you open it. The AI is built in; you don't need to bring your own API key.
The timer, benchmark library, score history, PR tracking, widgets and Apple Watch features are always free.
The AI coach includes one free request per day. WOD Forge Pro (monthly or yearly, with a 7-day free trial) removes that limit for unlimited coaching.
Open any WOD and tap Start timer. Choose For Time, AMRAP, EMOM or Tabata and set the duration. A 10-second countdown runs, then the clock starts. The screen stays awake, and buzzer sounds mark the countdown, start, round changes and finish (toggle sounds in Settings).
You can put the phone down mid-workout — the timer keeps running on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. When you finish, you're prompted to log your score.
When you log a score, the app compares it to your previous results for that workout. For timed WODs the fastest time wins; for AMRAPs the most rounds+reps wins. Your current record gets a 🏆 PR badge in History and on the workout page, and you'll see a "New PR!" note when you beat it.
Yes. Open the WOD and tap Log score, enter your result (time, rounds+reps, or load), mark Rx or scaled, and add notes.
Install WOD Forge on your Apple Watch (it installs automatically with the iPhone app). Open a WOD on your phone and it becomes available on the watch, or pick a quick-start mode on the wrist. The watch runs the timer with live heart rate and calories, saves the workout to Apple Health, and sends your score back to your iPhone automatically.
Check permissions: open the Health app → your profile → Apps → WOD Forge, and make sure "Workouts" (and, on Watch, Heart Rate / Active Energy) are enabled. You can also toggle "Save workouts to Apple Health" in the app's Settings. Only workouts finished with the built-in timer are written.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → WOD Forge, where you can change tier or cancel. Cancelling keeps Pro active until the end of the current period.
Open the paywall (Settings → Upgrade to Pro) and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with the approximate purchase date.
Your workouts, scores and settings are stored on your device. When you chat with the coach, only your message and a short summary of your training history are sent (securely) to generate the reply — it's never used to train AI models and isn't linked to your identity. Apple Health data stays in Apple Health. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Delete individual items with a long-press, clear everything in Settings → Delete all workouts, or delete the app to remove all on-device data. There's no server-side account to erase.
